A Celebration of Life
Conducting my first funeral service made me realise how wonderful it is to help families celebrate a loved one’s life. Contrary to many peoples’ views a funeral can be a time to laugh at cherished moments as well as reflect on the pain and grief of losing them.
As your celebrant I will work closely with the funeral director to conduct a service which can be non-religious, semi-religious or spiritual. As with any service or ceremony I write it will be unique and personal to that person. The service should be a ‘celebration of life’ that honours the person’s memory.
This approach places greater emphasis on how the person lived their life, their personality traits and the memories of mourners.
“Helen wrote a service that covered everything whilst also including readings and poems that reflected the emotions we had expressed perfectly.”
As part of my fee I will meet with you (usually approximately two hours) to listen to your memories and stories and help with suggestions for readings and poems if required. Following our meeting I will write the service, which you will have the opportunity to read and make changes or add to. I will then deliver the service.
If you are looking to create ceremonies of substance and meaning that will reflect what you as a family want to say, then I am the celebrant for you.
Fee: From £225
